Why Tithe Into Ebenezer Temple?

The bible talks a lot about sowing and reaping. In Matthew 13, Jesus tells the parable of the sower. He teaches that the seed sown on good ground, has the potential to bring a crop that is one hundred times what was planted. The seed Jesus was taking about is the word of God, yet the principle is the same. Ebenezer Temple is good ground. All gifts given will go toward helping us to further spread the word of God, and to implement positive change in our community.

So what is a tithe?
A tithe is simply 10% of your gross income. It’s giving back to God a little of what He gave to you. In Malachi 3:10, God tells us to bring tithes into the storehouse so there will be meat (resources) in his temple (church). He goes on to say that if you do, he will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing you won’t even have enough room to receive. He even challenges us to try him and watch him prove it.

Do I have to tithe?
“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”
2 Corinthians 9:7(NLT)
Short answer? Of course not! The bible does give us guidelines on giving, and we’re blessed when we give according to them. But, you’re not obligated to tithe here. However, if you’d like to give an offering or donation, we’re always happy to accept.
